Amanda's Story to become Amanda's Law!Posted by Amilcar in Untagged |
When Ken and Kim Hansen lost their 16 year old daughter, Amanda to carbon monoxide poisoning, they wanted their daughter's story to prevent a similar tragedy from happening to another family. Emedia Studios produced a video for Roy's Plumbing to help the Hansens tell Amanda's story. Ken talked about losing his daughter and that he hopes it never happens to anyone else. Roy's Plumbing offered free furnace checks to the first 500 callers. All the Hansens wanted was something positive to result from what happened to Amanda. NYS Assemblyman Mark J. Schroeder introduced the bill requiring all homes in New York State to have a carbon monoxide detector. The NYS Assembly passed "Amanda's Law" before convening for the summer, now it is in the Senate's hands to approve the measure. Please encourage your Senator to approve this, so the Hansens can know that Amanda’s tragic death made a difference! You can see Amanda's Story in our gallery section.
